THE STUDIO AND WORK

In the heart of one of New Zealand’s art districts, modern and figurative artist Annie Hayward lives and works from her studio in Eastbourne, Wellington.

Involved in the art world from birth, artist Annie Hayward’s natural talent for painting was encouraged by her father, a French artist and her mother, also artistically inclined.

Art and painting is central to her life.

The prime mover of creativity in all Hayward’s modern and figurative art and paintings is love and hope. Her source for creativity and inspiration comes from a love of life, human beings, nature, the sea, the weather and animals.

Hayward says she mixes this altogether like an artist’s palette and creates magical and surreal paintings that reflect all emotions and always allude to hope. This allows her art to translate well into other mediums such as greeting and gift cards.

For many years, artist Annie Hayward has been working as a figurative artist. This has enabled her to produce a large body of original art and figurative paintings, some in serial format by season, some based on songs and allegories, some on fables, some on a passing sound or view.

The figurative art work is now available as original paintings, as prints and as greeting and gift cards.

Annie exhibits widely and she has been commissioned for many modern and figurative paintings both in New Zealand and overseas. Her art work is included in many New Zealand and international collections.
